The tour begins at the charming Plazoleta de San Pedro, where the San Pedro Market is located, a vibrant place full of history. Opened in 1925, this market is one of Cusco's main supply points, offering an incredible variety of local products such as cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts.

Exploring San Pedro Market

Our guide will lead you through the lively aisles of San Pedro Market, where you will have the opportunity to meet local vendors and learn about the fresh and exotic ingredients used in Peruvian cuisine. This market is a meeting point for both tourists and locals, and it was part of the ancient Inca Trail that connected to the current Plaza de Armas.

Walk to the Cooking Studio

After exploring the market, we will head to the cooking studio, located a few streets away in the Historic Center of Cusco. This modern studio will be set up to begin our Peruvian cooking classes.

Peruvian Cooking Class

Preparation of Pisco Sour

The cooking class starts with the preparation of the famous Peruvian cocktail, Pisco Sour. You will learn to make this traditional drink with a special twist, using passion fruit juice. Pisco, a distilled grape liquor, is the main ingredient of this refreshing cocktail.

First Course: Mashua Cream with Purple Corn Chips

The professional chef will guide you in preparing a delicious Mashua Cream, an Andean tuber similar to potato, accompanied by crunchy purple corn chips. Mashua is known for its nutritional properties and unique flavor.

Second Course: Three Types of Ceviche

In this stage, you will prepare three versions of the iconic Peruvian ceviche:

  • Classic Ceviche: with red onion and cilantro.
  • Ancient Ceviche: with tumbo juice, a native fruit of the Andes.
  • Andean Ceviche: based on kushuro (high Andean algae), tarwi (Andean soybean), and camu camu, creating an explosion of flavors.

Third Course: Stuffed Rocoto Pepper and Potato Pie

You will cook an exquisite stuffed rocoto pepper with mushrooms and vegetables, accompanied by a salad from the organic garden and a smooth and creamy potato pie. Rocoto is a variety of chili with a spicy touch that adds a distinctive flavor to the dish.

Fourth Course: Exotic Fruit Desserts

You will finish the class by tasting desserts made with aromatic and fresh exotic fruits such as lucuma, aguaymanto, and cherimoya. These desserts are the perfect ending to an unforgettable culinary experience.

Tasting and Socializing

During the class, you will taste each of your dishes at the end of each course, delighting in traditional Peruvian cuisine made with your own hands. You will also share a pleasant moment with the rest of the group, enjoying non-alcoholic beverages such as Chicha Morada, a sweet drink made from purple corn.
