Viajar a Mendoza, Argentina

Some of the history of Mendoza:

Although signs of Inca settlements have been found in the north of the city, such as the so-called "Fort Inca", it has not been proven that the territory has been occupied by the Inca empire.

In the mid-16th century, Francisco de Villagra was the first Spanish explorer sent to inspect the area, coming into contact with the locals, from the Huarpe tribe, who received him affably. The envoys of the Crown had orders to populate Cuyo. So the following year he founded the city of Mendoza del Nuevo Valle de la Rioja. But then a transfer was made to the Guaymallén canal area.

There were never disputes with the native peoples, but rather the Spaniards and the Huarpes, in their friendly coexistence, mestized, forming new families.

In 1817 Mendoza had an active participation in the independence movements, since it was in this city where General José de San Martín prepared the crossing of the Andes with the aim of liberating Chile.

The new ordering of Mendoza took place after the earthquake of 1861, where the creation of four smaller squares that surrounded the main square was arranged.

Its current population is descended from strong waves of immigrants of Italian, French, German, Hebrew and Arab origin.

The wine fields in Mendoza:

Almost all of Argentina's wines are produced in Mendoza. The fertile land of the valley and its dry climate make this territory an ideal place for growing vines of the highest quality. Malbec from Mendoza has received international awards for its excellent quality.
