Itinerary The Arrayanes Forest Excursion with boat trip to Victoria Island
The Arrayanes Forest Excursion with a boat trip to Victoria Island is a must-see tour. Victoria Island belongs to the Nahuel Huapi National Park and was inhabited thousands of years ago by aborigines who left evidence of their existence in caverns where cave paintings were found. This guided tour will show you the only Arrayanes Forest in the world from whose tree it takes its name and you will visit the Arrayanes national park. You can choose between the full-day or half-day tour. In both cases, we start from Bariloche crossing the Nahuel Huapi Lake arriving in Victoria Island.
Enjoy the exuberant typical Patagonia fauna and flora and be amazed by the wonderful local landscape full of Myrtus, trees that grow only in this region, reaching up to 18 meters high offering an impressive view of the place.
The Arrayanes Forest Excursion with a boat trip to Victoria Island begins in Puerto Pañuelo, near the famous Llao Llao hotel, aboard a comfortable catamaran that will cross the Nahuel Huapi Lake until disembarking in Puerto Quetrihue, near Villa la Angostura. In this area, you can see where the last arrayanes trees grow. These 500 to 650 years old trees have an unmistakable smooth bark with an intense cinnamon color and an aroma similar to the orange blossoms, whose tops sprout white flowers at the end of the summer, and black and bright fruits in autumn. This incomparable guided tour continues through trails on the island until you reach the old National Park, from where you will sail until you reach Puerto Anchorena, where you can enjoy an incredible variety of magnificent flora.
he tour takes you to the beautiful Playa del Toro offering an incredible amount of cave paintings on a splendid volcanic sand beach. All the way the guides of the National Park will provide precise and very complete information about the vegetation, flora and the development of the places visited as well as their customs and anecdotes.
