Description Ushuaia - Puerto Williams Crossing
With the Ushuaia - Puerto Williams Crossing you will have the opportunity to observe all the fauna, flora and geography of the southernmost towns in the world. If you are traveling in Ushuaia and want to know how they live on the other side of the Beagle, you can cross the channel and visit this Chilean town, located on Navarino Island and only about 55 kilometers east of the city of Ushuaia.
Everything starts at 9:30 am in our office, a few meters from the port of Ushuaia, where after paying the port tax we will navigate through the Beagle Channel and we will be able to enjoy the marine life in the foreground, since we will surround with the boat the famous islands of sea lions and birds of the south. When we arrive at Puerto Navarino (Chile) and after doing the migratory procedures, we will continue the trip along a coastal road in a bus, from which we will be able to contemplate the whole Beagle Channel and see the Argentine coast with impressive views.
Once in Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world, we will be ready to enjoy the beautiful nature it has to offer, such as the so-called Dientes de Navarino, a set of world-renowned mountains where there are a variety of trails to do. Depending on how long you decide to invest in this place, there are several options. For the bravest, the entire journey to Dientes de Navarino takes 4 days while for travelers who only stay one night in Puerto Williams, there is an alternative that is a 3 hour trek to Cerro Bandera. It is a place with a privileged view of both the town and the Beagle Channel, from where you can also see the Argentine coast. For botanical lovers, it is recommended to visit Omora Park, a 1000 hectare botanical garden that offers its visitors a different way to see nature. And for those travelers interested in culture, here is also the last speaker of the Yagán language, the ancestral culture of these lands that can be appreciated and known in the different nooks and crannies of the town.
Remember that the trip only takes place between the months of October and March and lasts approximately one and a half hours, combining the crossing by boat through the waters of the Beagle and the journey by land. The Ushuaia - Puerto Williams Crossing is one of those tours that qualify for all types of travelers, especially for tourists who love nature.
