Description Wildlife Experience in Chilean Patagonia:
The Wildlife Experience in Chilean Patagonia is a tourist alternative that invites you to live a day in a Patagonian farm and discover the flora and fauna of this Chilean region with the help of specialized guides.
The excursion leaves at 3 p.m. from your hotel in Punta Arenas, where you will be picked up and taken to Estancia Olga Teresa, 78 km northwest of the city, in the Magallanes Region. After an hour you will arrive at a typical estancia in Chilean Patagonia, where you will be able to enjoy a unique encounter with nature.
The route is an immersion in the extensive Patagonian pampas, subject to strong winds all year round and characterized by low temperatures and shrub vegetation. With the help of bilingual guides and bird specialists, you can learn about the rhea, black-necked swans and flamingos found in the lagoons and mallines.
You can also feel the unique experience of photographing, in their natural habitat, wild mammals such as guanacos, culpeo and gray foxes, hares, and other more discreet species such as the armadillo piche and hairy and the chingue, a species of a skunk with a robust body and a colorful tail.
Estancia Olga Teresa is also home to Cerro Palomares, on whose slopes there is Chile's largest condor colony, with more than 120 condors. The guide will provide you with binoculars so that you can better observe how they fly, without disturbing their natural environment. In this half-day tour we recommend to take comfortable and warm clothes, sunblock, sunglasses, socks and/or spare shoes
With the Wildlife Experience in Chilean Patagonia you will enjoy direct contact with nature around Punta Arenas and discover the flora and fauna of this Chilean region. Make your reservation online!
