This Chili River Rafting Adventure Day will take you to know one of the most popular activities in Peru, you will have a day full of adrenaline doing this sport.
Rafting in Peru has become popular because this country has white water rivers perfect to practice it.
- The Chili River has an extension of 122 kilometers and passes through this beautiful city creating a unique landscape. It supplies water to the local population and is also widely used for agricultural and industrial activities.
The journey to adventure
To begin this day of adventure to the Chili River rapids we will pick you up from your hotel located in the city of Arequipa. We will go to the Chilina Valley, towards the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Chapi - Charcani, a small church located on the banks of the Chili River.
Once located at this point we will meet the professional guides who will give us an explanation about the correct use of the equipment, as well as the safety and rescue guidelines in the river, before entering the water.
The different stages of the Chili River Adventure
The first section of rapids where you will learn this sport is class II, here you will be able to practice the paddling technique. Then, once you are familiar with these techniques, you will embark on an exciting class III section, until you reach the strongest class IV rapids.
- In case you don't feel ready for the last kind of rapid, you can get out of the boat and take a short walk. Then you will return to section III to continue the adventure.
Always accompanied by our expert guide, we will continue this journey through the class III and IV rapids, covering a stretch of about an hour and a half.
To end this day of adventure on the Chili River, you will have the opportunity to swim and bathe in the river, discover the surrounding nature and have a well-deserved rest after so much adrenaline!
After having spent an excellent day in the river, we will return to the white city to enjoy a snack and finally we will drop you off at your hotel.
