Visit to palafito villages in Santa Marta

The Palafitos villages are located on the outskirts of Santa Marta, they are magical villages located in the Ciénaga Grande. Our tour to visit the Palafitos villages starts at 5:30 am with departure from hotels in Santa Marta, with a transfer that will take us to the nautical dock.

From there we will take a speedboat with tent and start sailing in the Ciénaga Grande until we arrive at the first palafito village, of 700 inhabitants called Buena Vista. In this palafito village we will take a ride in the fishermen's canoe, and we can interact with the community and learn about their particular amphibian culture.

After the visit in Buena Vista we continue our way through the swamp until we reach the largest village in the area, Nueva Venecia, which has 2800 inhabitants. In this place we will take a walk to appreciate the way of life of the inhabitants of the place, the facilities of the village such as the church, the school, the soccer field and much more.

After the cultural encounter with this amphibian society we start our return to the city of Cienaga where we eat lunch and continue chatting and seeing very untypical sights, before taking the road back to Santa Marta.
