Itinerary Train Trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu

In the morning we will pick you up at your hotel located in Cusco, from there we will go to the train station in Poroy. We will take the selected train, to begin a journey of a little over 3 hours to reach the train station in the town of Aguas Calientes. Then, we will take a bus to the entrance of the wonderful citadel of Machu Picchu, a World Heritage Site.

    Machu Picchu a magical place 

      In the Central Cordillera of the Peruvian Andes, surrounded by the Vilcanota River is the beautiful mountain of Machu Picchu, has a height of 2430 m.a.s.l., and is in a sub-tropical zone. It was built by the Inca Pachacutec between 1400 and 1500 AD, being the exclusive refuge of the Inca aristocracy.

      • You will explore this magical place for 2 hours with the company of a bilingual guide, touring the archeological center, also known as the Lost City of the Incas. In addition, you will contemplate a diversity of orchids, and forests of trees, as well as insects, mammals and birds that live in the area, among them the national bird of Peru "Cock of the Rock".
      • You will have free time in Machu Picchu, to take pictures, or if you wish to climb Huayna Picchu and admire the citadel. You can even choose to go down with the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, to enjoy lunch (optional).
      • At the scheduled time, you will have to report to the train station to return to the city of Cusco. To end this train trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu, we will arrive at the Poroy station and you will be transferred in private transportation to your hotel.
