Itinerary Tourist Bus from Puno to Cusco
With this tourist bus from Puno to Cusco, you can travel the famous Route of the Sun, a place of many charms and mysteries of the Inca past. This transfer to Cusco consists of 4 stops:
- The first stop is in the town of Pucará, where the Pukará Lithic Museum is located. Here are exhibited a set of monoliths and lithic sculptures of the Pukara culture, which have been recovered in the archaeological complex.
- The second stop is shorter, at the pass of La Raya, the highest point on the road between Puno and Cusco at 4313 meters above sea level. ¡Here you can stretch your legs and admire the beautiful scenery with the Andes in the background, take pictures of the beautiful snow-capped mountains!
- The third stop is in Secuani, where you can have lunch at a local restaurant while listening to live Peruvian music. Then you will head to Racchi, where you will find the Temple dedicated to the main Inca God: Wiracocha, an amazing and unique rectangular construction 30 meters wide and 20 meters high; it has windows and doors and is believed to have been the highest roof of the entire Inca Empire.
- You will continue your journey and stop at our last stop: the town of Andahuaylillas, located about 40 kilometers from Cusco. Its main attraction is the colonial church of Andahuaylillas, also known as "The Sistine Chapel of America", thanks to the high quality of its art pieces on the ceiling, with frescoes adorning its walls and gold altars. It was built in the 16th century over the remains of possibly Wari constructions. Currently, it has a recently restored original pipe organ.
Finally, you will board the bus and embark on the last journey to the city of Cusco. It is an 8-hour tour where you will learn, know and enjoy the Peruvian culture.
