Itinerary Half-day tour to Santa Cruz Bay

This adventure through the most important islands from Puerto Ayora to Bahia begins when we pick you up at your hotel located in Santa Cruz. We will go to the port to get on a boat with a naturalist guide who will accompany us during the trip explaining everything you need to know about the different points and activities.

Get ready to live an adventure of nature and sea with Dayours4u!

    The Lobería

The first place we will reach is the lobería, here is the habitat of sea lions and sea lions.

This small island is located 2 miles away from the port and offers a great diversity of species, which you will be able to appreciate thanks to the glass bottom of the boat. Among the specimens that inhabit the island you can find seabirds, invertebrates and fish, marine iguanas and basaltic formations that provide a beautiful landscape of the geography of the place.

        Shark Channel

Next we will go to the Shark Channel, this place is a small crevice where you can observe gully sharks in their natural habitat, which are harmless species.

These cracks are formed by a magmatic chamber and also among the lava rocks you can observe oceanic birds.

            Love Channel

This third place is another fissure, fantastic for photography, of exceptional scenic beauty. The Canal del Amor (Love Channel) is a cliff of intense turquoise dormant waters. A beautiful place between volcanic rocks, full of crabs, birds and in its waters there is a great variety of endemic fish and sharks.

Then we will go to "Franklin Bay". In this bay there are sea turtles, golden rays and eagle rays. It is a mangrove area where pelicans and herons nest depending on the season.

We will continue to "Las Grietas", which are part of the shark and love channels. They stand out for their calm, less salty and transparent waters. It is a great place for snorkeling and where the locals show their skills to dive from above. You can also take a fifteen minute walk on the lava rocks where you will see Darwin's finches, shorebirds and the lagoon with its endemic and native vegetation.

                Dogs Beach

Finally we will arrive at Isla de los Perros (Dogs Beach), where you will have the option to take a hike. This beach has been so named because of its large population of dog crabs that inhabit the area. It is also the place where you will find the largest marine iguanas of the islands that make up Santa Cruz.

This half day tour to Santa Cruz Bay ends when the boat returns to the port of Ayora. The rest of the day is free to rest or enjoy it as you prefer.

Book now a magical experience of snorkeling and sea, where you will meet marine species and enjoy all the beauty of a paradisiacal landscape.
