Basic Package Rio de Janeiro and Foz do Iguaçu

In this basic itinerary you will discover 2 dazzling cities of Brazil, with a program full of activities including transfers and accommodation. 

Rio de Janeiro is a modern and urban city but in perfect harmony with nature. Foz do Iguaçu enchants with the natural beauties of the Waterfalls Park. Its hundreds of waterfalls and preserved forests were chosen as one of the new wonders of the world.

Day 1: Welcome to Rio de Janeiro

Upon arrival at Rio de Janeiro's international airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax at the hotel or explore the city.

Day 2: Full-day tour of Rio de Janeiro

Early in the morning we will pick you up at your hotel for an 8-hour tour of Rio de Janeiro's main attractions. 

The first place we will reach is Christ the Redeemer. It is considered one of the seven wonders of the world and is located at the top of Corcovado Hill. It is in the southern part of Rio, at an altitude of 710 meters above sea level, and is a monument visited by the whole world that offers a wonderful panoramic view. From Christ the Redeemer you will be able to see a paradisiacal landscape, the city, beaches and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. 

• You will experience an ecological tour through the flora and fauna of Rio de Janeiro.
• The access to the top is by van (included in the package), in a trip that takes about 20 minutes, through the Tijuca National Park, the largest urban forest in the world. 

The second stop of this City Tour in Rio de Janeiro is the Maracana Stadium, one of the venues of the World Cup Brazil 2014. The visit is only for the outside of the stadium, but if you prefer you can alternatively pay a tour of the place and live the energy that this sport generates. 

We will continue to the Sambadrome where we will visit the Samba Museum. There we will be able to see the Apoteose Square, the place where the parades of the samba schools take place during the Carnival of the city.

We continue this second day of our Rio de Janeiro City Tour with lunch at the Rodizio Churrascaria (included in the package - drinks and desserts) and then we will visit the Sugar Loaf. We will go up to the hill located at 395 m.a.s.l. by glass cable car, which offers a 360º view of Guanabara Bay, Copacabana, Urca, Botafogo and Flamengo. You will discover one of the most beautiful postcards of the city! 

To end this day we will tour Rio's city center. We will see its main attractions, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Selarón Staircase, a work of the Chilean artist Jorge Seláron. 

At the end of the day we will transfer you to your reserved hotel so you can rest. 

Day 3: Free day in Rio

• Daytours4u suggests the optional 4-hour jeep tour through the Tijuca Forest, where you can find the beautiful Chinese View (a tribute to the oriental culture) and see the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema and the Guanabara Bay; as well as the Botanical Garden, site of the imperial palms and several stories of the Brazilian Empire.

Day 4: Free day in Rio

Day 5: On the way to Foz do Iguaçu

We will pick you up at your hotel in Rio de Janeiro to take you to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguaçu.

Once in Foz do Iguaçu, you will be transferred to your reserved hotel and then have the rest of the day at leisure to explore the city.

Day 6: Visit to the Brazilian side of the Falls and 

On this visit to the Brazilian Falls and Bird Park, you will experience an ecological adventure where you will learn about the richness of the flora and fauna that inhabit them.

The Brazilian Waterfalls offer a unique tour with more than 270 falls, which combined with the sunlight form beautiful rainbows. 

The Parque de Las Aves (Bird Park) is located near the Iguaçu National Park, once there you can visit its trails and observe all the nature of this ecosystem. In this impressive habitat there are more than 500 species, between tropical and exotic, of all colors. Besides the native birds of Brazil, there are also some species from other countries. 

The tour to the Falls does not include the entrance fee, so we will stop at the Tourist Service Station so you can purchase it.

Day 7: Free day in Foz do Iguaçu

Day 8: Free day in Foz do Iguaçu

Day 9: Farewell to Foz do Iguaçu 

After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel and transferred to the Foz do Iguaçu International Airport.
