Itinerary Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia Classic Package

Get to know the most visited cities in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia. 

Rio de Janeiro is a modern city that is in perfect harmony with nature. An ideal place for those who want to visit beautiful beaches and parks, without leaving aside the comforts of a large metropolis. Salvador, on the other hand, has all the charm of old and colonial cities, picturesque houses and deep-rooted cultural traditions, a colorful city full of history.

    Day 1: Welcome to Rio 

      Upon arrival at Rio de Janeiro's international airport, we will be waiting to meet you and transfer you to your selected hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to enjoy as you wish or to rest from your trip.

        Day 2: Full day tour of Rio de Janeiro

          Early in the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel for an 8-hour tour of the main attractions of Rio de Janeiro

          The first place we will reach is Christ the Redeemer. It is considered one of the seven wonders of the world and is located at the top of Corcovado Hill. It is in the southern part of Rio, at an altitude of 710 meters above sea level, and is a monument visited by the whole world that offers a wonderful panoramic view.

          From Christ the Redeemer you will be able to see a paradisiacal landscape, the city, beaches, and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. 

          You will experience an ecological tour through the flora and fauna of Rio de Janeiro.

          • The access to the top is by van (included in the package), in a trip that lasts about 20 minutes, through the Tijuca National Park, the largest urban forest in the world. 

          The second stop of this City Tour in Rio de Janeiro, is at the Maracanã Stadium, one of the venues of the World Cup Brazil 2014. 

          • The visit is only for the outside of the stadium, but if you enjoy soccer tourism, you can alternatively pay a tour of this place and experience the energy that this sport generates. 

          We will continue to the Sambadrome where we will visit the Samba Museum. There we will be able to see the Apoteose Square, the place where the parades of the samba schools take place during the Carnival of the city. 

          We continue this second day of the City Tour of Rio de Janeiro with lunch at Rodízio Churrascaria, and then we will visit the Pan de Azúcar (Sugar Loaf). 

          We will go up to the hill located at 395 m.a.s.l. by glass cable car, which offers a 360º view of the Guanabara Bay, Copacabana, Urca, Botafogo, and Flamengo. You will discover one of the most beautiful postcards in the city! 

          To end this day, we will tour Rio's city center. We will see its main attractions, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Seláron Staircase, the work of the Chilean artist Jorge Seláron. 

          At the end of the day, you will be transferred to your reserved hotel to rest.

            Day 3: Free day in Rio

              This day is free to explore Rio de Janeiro.

                Day 4: Free day in Rio

                  This day is free to explore Rio de Janeiro.

                      You will be picked up at your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and taken to the airport, where you will board your flight to the city of Bahia.

                      Once in Salvador de Bahia, we will accompany you to the hotel of your choice and you will have the rest of the day free to explore the city.

                        Day 6: Getting to know Salvador de Bahia, city tour

                          During this day we will pick you up at your hotel in the city to take you to visit the most important places in Salvador, places of great cultural and historical importance for the city. 

                            Fort of Santo Antônio da Barra and Cidade Alta

                              We will go to the Barra Lighthouse, which is located inside the Fort of Santo Antonio da Barra and was the second lighthouse to be built in America. Next we will go to Cidade Alta, the economic center and modern part of Salvador, with busy avenues, large buildings and shopping malls.

                              Stop at the Municipal Square and the Lacerda elevator.

                              From there we will depart to the Municipal Square on foot, during this part of the journey you will see the Rio Branco Palace, the former seat of government, and the City Hall, located in front of the Lacerda elevator. 

                              • Lacerda was built in 1930, and is considered the first urban elevator in the world, its 72 meters high will allow you to contemplate one of the most beautiful views of the bay of All Saints.
                              • From the viewpoint of the elevator, you will be able to contemplate the Upper City, the Lower City, the streets and houses of Pelourinho, known for their bright colors and classic architecture.

                              Visit to the temples of Terreiro de Jesus Square

                                We will continue this visit to the Terreiro de Jesus Square, where the Cathedral Basilica, the Mother Church of the Savior and the Church of San Francisco, one of the richest in Brazil and considered the most beautiful example of Portuguese baroque in the world. 

                                  Largo do Pelourinho

                                    The tour of the city of Salvador da Bahia ends at Largo do Pelourinho. In this part of the tour you will get to know a place considered one of the most important in the history of Bahia and that mixes colors, races, culture and history. 

                                    This beautiful place is recognized as world heritage by UNESCO and immortalized by one of the most famous Brazilian writers, Jorge Amado

                                    • This writer is known for literary successes such as Dona Flor and her two husbands, Tieta do Agreste and Gabriela, Cravo e Canela.

                                    After a day full of culture and dazzling landscapes, we will return to your hotel so you can rest. 

                                      Day 7: Free day in Salvador de Bahia

                                        This day is free to explore the city.
