Itinerary Basic Package: Rio de Janeiro, Salvador de Bahia and Manaus

During this itinerary you will visit: in Rio, the monuments of Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf, Maracana and Sambadrome. In Salvador, you will visit historic centers, churches, the Lacerda elevator and the Pelourinho. In Manaus, a classic city tour will take you to the main points of the city's history and culture. 

    Day 1 Welcome to Rio de Janeiro

      Upon arrival at Rio de Janeiro's international airport, we will be waiting to meet you and transfer you to your selected hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to enjoy as you wish or to rest from your trip. 

        Day 2: Full day tour of Rio de Janeiro

          During this day we will pick you up at your hotel to visit Corcovado Hill and the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which stands at 710 meters high. This is one of the most visited places in the city, and an ecological tour, as Corcovado Hill is located inside the Tijuca Forest National Park, the largest urban forest in the world.

          • From the top of the hill, you can see the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon in the north of the city and several beaches. 

          After enjoying the wonderful panoramic view that this place offers us, we will go to the legendary Maracanã Stadium, scene of famous soccer tournaments, such as the final of the 2014 World Cup. The visit consists of getting to know only the exterior, in case you want to take a tour of the venue, you can pay a fee on site and feel the good energy of this electrifying place (optional). Then we will go to the famous Avenida do Carnaval, Sambódromo, with access to the Samba Museum and we will have access to the view from Apoteose Square.

          We will have lunch at a traditional Rio steakhouse, Churrascaria Rodizio and after lunch we will move to the next visit, the Sugar Loaf.  This is located 395 meters above sea level, in the middle of Guanabara Bay. The ascent is made by a glass cable car to the top of the mountain, from where you can enjoy a wonderful 360° view of Guanabara Bay, Copacabana, Urca, Botafogo, Flamengo and its surroundings. 

          Before ending the tour, we will pass through the Historic Center of the city with stops at the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Selarón Staircase, the work of Chilean artist Jorge Seláron, as well as the preserved architecture of the country. 

          After a day of culture, we will return to the hotel.

            Day 3: Free day in Rio de Janeiro

              This day will be free for you to enjoy as you prefer. 

              • On this day Daytours4u suggests the optional jeep tour to the Tijuca Forest and the Botanical Garden. 

              In the Tijuca Forest is where you can find the beautiful Chinese view and see the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema and the Guanabara Bay; and the Botanical Garden, place of the imperial palms and several stories of the Brazilian Empire.

                Day 4: Free day in Rio de Janeiro

                  This day will be free for you to enjoy as you prefer. On this day Daytours4u suggests the optional walking tour of the city center.

                  • Here you will be able to see the Royal Portuguese Reading Cabinet, the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, the Cultural Center of the Bank of Brazil, the National Historical Museum and the Monastery of São Bento, among other options.

                  Day 5: Departure to Salvador de Bahia

                    You will be picked up at your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and taken to the airport for your flight to the city of Bahia.

                    Once in Salvador de Bahia, we will accompany you to the hotel of your choice and you will have the rest of the day free to explore the city.

                      Day 6: Getting to know Salvador de Bahia, city tour

                        During this day we will pick you up at your hotel located in the city to take you to visit the most important places in Salvador, sites of great cultural and historical importance for the city. 

                        We will go to the Barra Lighthouse, which is located inside the Fort of Santo Antonio da Barra and was the second lighthouse to be built in America. Next we will go to Cidade Alta, the economic center and modern part of Salvador, with busy avenues, large buildings and shopping malls.

                        From there we will walk to the Municipal Square, during this part of the trip you will visit the Rio Branco Palace, the former seat of government, and the City Hall, located in front of the Lacerda elevator. 

                        • Lacerda was built in 1930, and is considered the first urban elevator in the world, its 72 meters high will allow you to contemplate one of the most beautiful views of the bay of All Saints.
                        • From the viewpoint of the elevator, you will be able to contemplate the Upper City, the Lower City, the streets and houses of Pelourinho, known for their bright colors and classic architecture.

                        We will continue our visit to the Terreiro de Jesus Square, where the Cathedral Basilica, the Mother Church of Salvador and the Church of San Francisco, one of the richest in Brazil and considered the most beautiful example of Portuguese Baroque in the world, are located. 

                        The city tour of Salvador da Bahia concludes at Largo do Pelourinho. In this part of the tour you will get to know a place considered one of the most important in the history of Bahia and that mixes colors, races, culture and history. 

                        This beautiful place is recognized as world heritage by UNESCO and immortalized by one of the most famous Brazilian writers, Jorge Amado. 

                        • This writer is known for literary successes such as Dona Flor and her two husbands, Tieta do Agreste and Gabriela, Cravo e Canela.

                        After a day full of culture and dazzling landscapes, we will return to your hotel so you can rest. 

                          Day 7: Free day in Salvador de Bahia

                            This day is free to explore the city. 

                            • Daytours4u suggests an optional tour to Praia do Forte, 12 km long, and stands out for its large number of reefs and coconut trees, as well as boats for excursions and diving. And ecotourism lovers cannot miss the TAMAR Project, located in the region, which is one of the main initiatives for the preservation and study of sea turtles. 

                            Day 8: Free day in Salvador de Bahia

                              This day is free to explore the city. 

                              • Daytours4u suggests an optional boat tour to the tropical islands, located in the Bay of All Saints, the largest and most beautiful bay in Brazil. Its archipelago has 50 islands where you can see part of the city of Salvador and swim in the Ilha dos Frades, besides visiting the island of Itaparica, known for being the land of João Ubaldo Ribeiro, writer of the novel A Casa dos Budas Ditosos. 

                              Day 9: Departure to Manaus

                                During this day we will pick you up at your hotel in Salvador to take you to the airport for your flight to Manaus.

                                Once in Manaus, we will drop you off at the hotel of your choice and then you will have the rest of the day free to explore the city.

                                  Day 10: Visit to the city of Manaus

                                    Leaving the hotel we will go to the Ponta Negra sidewalk located on the banks of the Negro River. It is one of the characteristic neighborhoods of Manaus where theatrical and musical shows are usually performed. 

                                    During this city tour we will also visit the city center and take an internal tour of the Amazonas Theater. You will be able to contemplate all the richness and grandeur revealed by its corridors, halls and works of art.

                                    • This theater was inaugurated in 1896 and is one of the main tourist attractions, because it represents the rubber cycle, a very important historical moment for Brazil. 

                                    In addition, from this place you can see the Palace of Justice and Largo de São Sebastião. Where art, old houses and bars accompany the central landscape of Manaus. Highlighting the historic buildings, architectural examples of the rubber period. 

                                    We will continue to the Adolpho de Lisboa Market, where you will visit this important site for the commercialization of regional products. 

                                    • The Art Nouveau architectural style of the market is one of the few examples in Brazil. 

                                    At the Mercado Adolpho de Lisboa you will learn about the habits, culture and traditions that surround this place. In addition, you can buy products to taste the flavors and textures of the Amazon or take home a souvenir of this vacation. 

                                      Day 11: Free day in Manaus

                                        Free day to explore Manaus.
